The 5 ABSOLUTELY TO DO activities when on vacation in Malcesine

Updated: Feb 11, 2023

Short Vademecum for a TOP vacation

# 1 MALCESINE: THE CASTLE and THE BALDO CABLE CAR

A couple of hours drive up Monte Baldo and a relaxing stroll in the center: sit and admire Lake Garda in all its beauty, lose yourself in the narrow streets of the historic center of the beautiful medieval town of Malcesine and taste a good Spitz underneath the ancient walls of the castle Scaligero.

# 2 LIMONE and THE GARDA CYCLE PATH

Limone, one of the most famous and oldest centers in Garda. Famous for its old lemon plantations and its high-altitude roads. A small corner of the Amalfi Coast, nestled between the Alps.

A few steps from the center you can reach the beautiful Garda cycle path, a cycle path of approx. 3 km that overlooks the lake. The route is accessible all day, but only at sunset does it reach the climax of its beauty with its soft lights and an incomparably romantic atmosphere.

# 3 THE BUSATTE- TEMPESTA WAY

A few steps from the center of Torbole, in the locality of Busatte, begins the Busatte Tempesta route, a panoramic path with stairs anchored directly to the rock face that reaches the hamlet of Tempesta.

The view over the lake is fantastic.

Note: carefully inquire about the timetables of the buses that depart from Tempesta as the place is isolated.

# 4 RIVA del GARDA and the VARONE WATERFALL

Riva is the largest center in all of Garda. An elegant city overlooking the north shore of the lake.

Even the writer Thomas Mann was fascinated by the beauty of this city during a holiday on Lake Garda and above all by the gorge of the waterfall, which was dug by the Magnone brook and which brings the Varone waterfall to life.

Today the waterfall is in a private park which is a great place to spend a really lovely afternoon.

# 5 SUNSET BOAT TRIP

Among the 5 things you should definitely do on a holiday on Lake Garda, this is one of the most important if you want to impress your sweetheart: an aperitif on board a fantastic sailing ship and a spectacular view.
