In a few days we will celebrate the 51st World Earth Day, a very important date that is part of a week full of events that focus the eye on a series of very important issues for the protection of our beloved planet.
This year's theme will be 'Restore our Earth', we must restore our earth not only because we care about our planet, but because we live in it.
Each of us needs a healthy Earth to support their jobs, livelihoods, health, survival and happiness. A healthy planet is not an option, it is a necessity.
We at Elle Ecoholiday also feel obliged to fight side by side with you for this goal, therefore we have decided to support the Treedom project.
TREEDOM - www.treedom.net
We have just 'planted' 15 coffee, avocado, tomato, sesbania and cocoa plants in Kenya, Tanzania, Cameroon and Haiti.
The planted tree species are native and respect the biodiversity of the different territories.
They will help support the economy of entire families and villages, guaranteeing food sovereignty and income opportunities, education and more over time.
The trees we have chosen to plant will in fact absorb an amount of CO2 from the atmosphere that would be enough to fill 17,577 basketballs!
To find out more about World Earth Day, I recommend that you visit the official website https://www.earthday.org/
Inside you will find many articles and interesting ideas for reflection and change.
Gaylord Nelson, founding father of Earth day said:
"It is the economy that must adapt to the rules of biodiversity, not the other way around"
We believe in it. Let's believe it together.
